This initiative provides referrals for complimentary eye exams to individuals aged 65 and above who have not undergone an examination in the past three years. Volunteer ophthalmologists accept Medicare and various insurance plans as full payment, ensuring no charges for clients without coverage.

Intake Process: Visit the Referral Center on the website to check eligibility. Once qualified, patients receive an email referral to a local ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam and any necessary follow-up care based on the findings.

Costs: There are no fees for eligible clients, as their insurance will be billed. Volunteer ophthalmologists accept both Medicare and Medicaid, with co-pays and deductibles waived. Uninsured individuals are also welcomed at no cost. However, expenses for eyeglasses, prescription medications, hospital services, and fees from other medical professionals are not included in this program.
