The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a free, statewide bilingual resource designed to connect residents of Idaho with health and human service providers. Since 1991, it has acted as the primary directory for multiple programs offered by the Department of Health and Welfare. Utilizing a comprehensive database of service providers, the CareLine facilitates information and referrals for a variety of services, including prenatal care, immunizations, adolescent pregnancy prevention, Medicaid assistance, child development resources, adoption and foster care services, nutrition guidance, childcare referrals, child abuse prevention, elderly care, and diabetes management. Individuals can reach out via phone or email to obtain informational packets on topics like adoption, assistance applications (including CHIP), adolescent suicide prevention, and early childhood concerns. Additionally, the CareLine conducts surveys to maintain an updated list of Medicaid providers who are accepting new patients, including chiropractors, eye care specialists, and counselors. Services are available in English and Spanish, with access to AT&T Language Line for additional support.
