The program provides various services to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in achieving greater independence. Life skills training encompasses essential areas such as money management, meal preparation, personal hygiene, social interaction, anger management, home safety, community awareness, housekeeping, communication, social skills development, functional reading and writing, personal safety, public transportation, and accessing community resources. These services can be delivered in the individual's home, at our main facility, or within the community. Additionally, The Arc aids in identifying personal strengths, needs, job interests, and suitable job matches, offering training in Interviewing Skills, Job Seeking and Keeping Skills, Community-Based Work Evaluations, Community-Based Work Adjustment, and Personal Computer Training. Our qualified staff provide support in job development, placement, training, and follow-up services. For production-based work, we offer services such as printing, mailing, packaging, assembly, and paper contracts, either at our main site or by sending a supervised work group to your location. We ensure labor costs, liability insurance, employee benefits, and Workers' Compensation coverage are managed by The Arc, with work secured through a competitive bidding process and guaranteed quality control. We also provide prevocational activities and training for individuals preparing to enter the competitive job market. One-on-one job coaching is available to assist individuals in job searching, obtaining employment, and learning job responsibilities with staff support. Recreational opportunities enhance quality of life through activities like sports, travel, dances, and special events, with vacation packages offering affordable, integrated travel experiences. Activities include rafting, horseback riding, city nightlife, train rides, Boise River float trips, Shakespeare nights, bingo, and biking on the Greenbelt.
