The licensing for EMS and related regulations in Idaho are overseen by the Division of Public Health, Bureau of EMS and Preparedness within the DHW. To volunteer or establish a career in EMS in Idaho, individuals are required to be licensed by the state as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), or Paramedic. To receive an Idaho EMS personnel license, applicants should submit their application online via the bureau’s application and record system, IGEMS.
