Acerca de este recurso

The MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS can be reached at PHONE # 208-321-2215, and the Swine Flu Hotline for Region 4 is 208-321-2222. Idaho comprises seven health districts that work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and various state and local organizations. Each district has its own board of health appointed by county commissioners and operates independently of state agencies. They cater to local requirements, providing a diverse range of services that can differ from one district to another. These services encompass community health nursing, home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are facilitated through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your local District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness office collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to create a unified statewide strategy for addressing bioterrorism threats and other public health crises. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH programs address the relationship between human health and the surrounding environment, covering areas such as Day Care, Epidemiology (including Animal Bites and Food and Waterborne Illnesses), Food Establishments (which include Permits, Plan Reviews, and Inspections), and Public Pools. Land Development Programs include Mortgage Surveys, Public Water Systems, Subdivision Review, and Subsurface Sewage evaluations and permits. REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH services offer Family Planning assistance, including education, counseling, pregnancy testing, comprehensive physical exams (with cancer and STD screenings), and referrals, along with various birth control methods. Educational resources and speakers are available for community events upon request, and applications for temporary Medicaid cards for prenatal care can be obtained. IMMUNIZATIONS are provided by local health departments through low-cost or free routine childhood vaccination clinics, with parents encouraged to call ahead to schedule appointments. The Health Department will handle insurance billing. The Immunization Registry is a free, confidential service that keeps track of immunizations for you and your family, ensuring you receive only necessary vaccines. The WIC (WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN) PROGRAM offers monthly healthy food vouchers, health screenings, nutrition classes, community program information, and counseling from registered dietitians. It serves pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children under five. The WOMEN'S HEALTH CHECK program, funded federally, provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to uninsured women who meet specific income criteria and age requirements. Languages available include English and Spanish, with interpreters accessible. For general information, locations, and appointments, please call.
