The DEQ was established to maintain the cleanliness of air, water, and land within the state, as well as to protect residents from the harmful health effects of pollution. Its programs encompass: *Evaluating environmental issues. *Supervising facilities that produce air, water, and hazardous waste pollution. *Monitoring the quality of air and water. *Remediation of polluted sites. *Providing education, outreach, and technical support to businesses, local government entities, and concerned citizens. The DEQ State office will assess callers' needs and direct them to one of the six regional offices across the state. Languages available: English.
