Clients have the authority to review, copy, modify, limit the disclosure of their health information, and generally control how their health information is handled by the Department of Health and Welfare. The Privacy Office supervises all statewide Privacy and Confidentiality efforts. The Department formulates, executes, and upholds policies and procedures related to privacy, confidentiality, and access to the information it holds. The Privacy Office ensures that the Department's operations adhere to both federal and state regulations, as well as the Department's privacy practices.
