Recently, SA Boise has ramped up its community support, assisting 1,195 families in just one week. To meet the growing need for childcare, they are providing services Monday through Friday at no cost for children in grades K-6, operating from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Additionally, they have recognized the necessity for care for younger children and have teamed up with New Horizon Academy to offer services at a reduced fee. Major Michael Halverson stated, “The Salvation Army stands ready to do its part in support of our dedicated first responders and health care workers.” Meals are provided for all children, and safety measures have been implemented to keep families healthy. For school-aged children, the childcare staff emphasizes safety and productivity, allowing students to access the internet for online schooling while maintaining social distancing with a maximum of 8 children per classroom.
