Acerca de este recurso
St. Luke's Children's YEAH! (Youth Engaged in Activities for Health) program emphasizes the importance of healthy eating, physical activity, and positive behavioral changes for children and their families. This initiative is available to kids and teens aged 5 to 16 years who have a BMI at or above the 95th percentile (16-week program) or at or above the 85th percentile (8-week program), and who are referred by a healthcare provider, with parental involvement required. The program offers nutrition education, enjoyable fitness classes, behavior modification sessions, and monthly check-ups with a pediatrician, nurse, dietitian, exercise physiologist, physical therapist, and counselor (only for the 16-week program), encouraging active participation from both children and parents. Costs include billing to health insurance for clinic visits, with clients responsible for any co-pays or deductibles. Medicaid covers the program for eligible clients, though there will be a fee for fitness classes. To enroll, individuals should request an application from their primary care provider.
