Treasure Valley Brain Injury Support Group

Established in 1984, the Treasure Valley Brain Injury Support Group aims to offer support and education to individuals who have experienced a brain injury, along with their family and friends, at no cost. Each meeting includes educational presentations by community professionals during the first half, followed by support groups for those with brain injuries and their loved ones. These groups create a safe environment for sharing experiences and collaboratively solving problems, although they are not classified as therapy sessions. Facilitators are available to help maintain discussions and provide referrals for formal therapy if needed. The group believes that mutual support can alleviate the feelings of isolation and loneliness often faced by participants. Meetings occur on the fourth Thursday of each month, excluding the summer months of May, June, and July, featuring a new guest speaker each time to discuss various topics related to traumatic brain injury (TBI). The gatherings take place at Idaho St Lukes, located at 600 N. Robbins Road, Boise, ID, in the Large Elk Conference Rooms. Flyers with meeting details can be sent out prior to each session. The group operates in English.
