Habitat For Humanity, Gateway - Pocatello

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that collaborates with local communities to construct affordable homes. These homes are sold to families in need without any profit or interest. To qualify as a Habitat Family, applicants must meet several criteria: their current housing situation must be inadequate, they should not have access to better housing options, their income must align with the HUD annual income guidelines, and they should have lived or worked in Canyon County for at least a year. Additionally, applicants must be capable of paying the zero-interest monthly mortgage, commit to completing 300 to 500 hours of volunteer work, attend homeownership classes, prepare a family budget before final selection, and provide a down payment of $500 prior to the completion of construction.
