National Federation Of The Blind Of Idaho

The NFB's mission is to promote opportunity, security, and equality for all citizens who are blind. It serves a dual purpose: to help blind individuals build self-confidence and self-respect, and to provide a platform for collective expression among the blind community. Members work to inform the public that blind individuals are capable of competing equally with sighted individuals. The organization offers a diverse range of services for blind and visually impaired individuals of all ages, including public education on blindness, referral services, scholarships, literature, adaptive equipment, advocacy, civil rights protection, and initiatives like Job Opportunities for the Blind and Newsline for the Blind (a telephone newspaper). Additionally, the NFB of Idaho grants scholarships annually during its State Convention in the spring to blind students pursuing higher education. Languages: English.
