MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-737-5981DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare along with various state and local agencies. Each district has a health board appointed by county commissioners and operates independently from any state agency. They address local requirements by offering a diverse range of services that can differ from one district to another. These services include community health nursing, home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your nearest Public Health District. Additionally, the Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office (Bioterrorism Planning) collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a comprehensive statewide strategy for preparing and responding to bioterrorism incidents and other public health crises.
