Acerca de este recurso

The MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS can be reached at 208-321-2215, and the Swine Flu Hotline for Region 4 is available at 208-321-2222. Idaho comprises seven health districts that work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and various state and local agencies. Each district operates independently and has a health board appointed by county commissioners. They cater to local demands, providing diverse services that may differ across districts. These services include community health nursing, home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For current information on community services, contact your local District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness office collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a comprehensive statewide strategy for responding to bioterrorism and public health emergencies. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH programs address the intersection of human health with the physical environment and ecosystems, covering areas such as Day Care, Epidemiology (Animal Bites, Food and Water Borne Illness), Food Establishments (Permits, Plan Reviews, Inspections), and Public Pools. Land Development Programs include Mortgage Surveys, Public Water Systems, Subdivision Review, and Subsurface Sewage evaluations. REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH services encompass Family Planning, offering education, counseling, pregnancy testing, physical exams (including cancer and STD screenings), and referrals. Most birth control methods are available, and educational resources can be provided for community presentations. Temporary Medicaid card applications for prenatal care are also accessible. IMMUNIZATIONS are administered at local health departments, providing routine childhood vaccinations at low or no cost for those unable to pay. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the local health department, which will bill insurance. The Immunization Registry is a free, confidential service that keeps track of vaccination records. The WIC (WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN) PROGRAM offers monthly healthy food vouchers, health screenings, nutrition classes, community program information, and counseling with registered dietitians. It serves pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children under five. The WOMEN'S HEALTH CHECK program, funded federally, provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings for eligible women without insurance coverage for these tests. Eligibility includes women aged 50-64, those aged 40-49 who haven't had a pap test in five years or longer, and younger women with symptoms of breast or cervical cancer. Language assistance is available. For inquiries about services, locations, and appointments, please call.
