The Regional Children and Family Services Program evaluates reports related to child abuse, neglect, or abandonment and offers necessary services to meet family needs. This program assesses and determines the validity of reported child abuse incidents, which may involve evaluating family members and the child in question. It also facilitates counseling for the victim, parents, the abuser, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program is responsible for licensing child care facilities, foster homes, and offering some adoption services. The Division of Family and Community Services administers this program, with services available in English and Spanish through interpreters.
