The Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane is focused on offering quality health care services specifically for veterans. The facility provides both primary and secondary care, prioritizing preventive health and the management of chronic diseases. It has 36 hospital beds and 34 nursing home beds designed for rehabilitation. Additionally, a mobile clinic with two exam rooms extends primary care services to veterans residing in remote areas beyond the Spokane metropolitan zone. The Spokane VA ensures that enrolled veterans have access to a comprehensive health care benefits package, coordinating referrals to the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and VAMC Portland for specialized care, while also leveraging community health resources. There are collaborative agreements with the 92nd Medical Group at Fairchild Air Force Base, Indian Health Services for Native Americans, and the Idaho and Washington State Departments of Veterans Affairs for the care of residents in state homes located in Lewiston, ID, and Spokane. The medical center also supports the Veterans Outreach Center in Spokane at 13109 E. Mirabeau Parkway, Spokane Valley, WA. In 2013, the facility was renamed the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center to honor two Medal of Honor recipients: Private First Class Joe E. Mann, who lost his life in WWII, and Platoon Sergeant Bruce A. Grandstaff, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War. The Mann-Grandstaff VAMC and its associated clinics serve over 30,000 veterans each year across Central and Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Northwestern Montana.
