Kinderhaven functions as an emergency shelter for children who have been abused or neglected, receiving referrals primarily from Health and Welfare. Occasionally, we provide temporary housing for teenage girls lacking foster placements until they turn 18. Our Group Foster Home is licensed for 12 children and is coed, accepting girls up to 18 years old and boys up to 12. We primarily communicate in English.
