Acerca de este recurso

The Medical Reserve Corps can be reached at 208-415-5180, and for swine flu inquiries, call 208-415-5299. Idaho is divided into seven health districts that work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and other state and local organizations. Each district has its own health board appointed by county commissioners and operates independently from state agencies. The services offered can differ among districts and may include community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, often provided through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information on local services, contact your nearest District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to create a unified plan for addressing bioterrorism and public health emergencies. Environmental Health programs focus on the relationship between human health and the environment, covering areas such as daycare, epidemiology, food establishments, indoor air quality, lead health, meth labs, public pools, and solid waste management. Land Development programs include regulations on critical materials, mortgage surveys, non-domestic wastewater, public water systems, aquifer protection, shallow injection well inventory, subdivision reviews, and subsurface sewage evaluations. Family Planning services offer education, counseling, pregnancy tests, comprehensive physical exams, and referrals, with various birth control methods available. Local health departments provide routine childhood vaccinations, often at low or no cost, and overseas immunizations by appointment. Adult vaccines may also be available. The Immunization Registry is a free service that helps track vaccinations for individuals and families. The WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program offers healthy food vouchers, health screenings, nutrition classes, and individual counseling for eligible pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children under five. The Women's Health Check program provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings for women who meet specific criteria, including those without insurance that covers these tests. For general inquiries, locations, and appointments, please call.
