FREEMED provides support to uninsured low-income individuals in obtaining low or no-cost prescription medications via patient assistance programs from brand name manufacturers. There are around 270 programs available that offer over 3000 different medications. Additionally, FREEMED aids Medicare clients with the evaluation and enrollment process for the Medicare Prescription Drug Program. If clients qualify through Social Security, FREEMED can enroll them in a Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), which can significantly reduce prescription costs by up to 85%. For those who do not qualify for LIS, FREEMED can help combine patient assistance with Medicare's prescription drug program to help prevent the coverage gap. Services are offered in English, German, and Spanish.
