The RMS is tasked with assessing eligibility and granting authorization for specific Medicaid services, which encompass Personal Care Services (PCS), the HCBS Waiver for the Aged and Disabled (offering a range of support such as attendant care, homemaker services, chore assistance, adult day care, home-delivered meals, personal emergency response systems, and specialized equipment/supplies); the Katie Beckett program or Home Care for Certain Disabled Children; Nursing Facility Care; ICF/MR Care; Residential and Assisted Living Services; Certified Family Homes; Case Management; and Private Duty Nursing. Individuals requiring Adult Developmental Disabilities services must be Medicaid recipients assessed as needing these supports. The RMS also enrolls service providers, offers consultation, and performs quality assurance and improvement evaluations. Additionally, the Healthy Connections program operates under the RMS. **Personal Care Services (PCS): For medical needs requiring 16 hours or less of care weekly, this service is a standard Medicaid benefit under PCS. However, if care exceeds 16 hours, the individual may qualify for one of the Home and Community Based Waivers, where the home care cost must not surpass that of a nursing home or intermediate care facility. All services must receive prior authorization from the Regional Medicaid Unit.** The Home Care for Certain Disabled Children, referred to as the 'Katie Beckett' program, is designed for children under 18 who do not qualify for Medicaid through other programs. Eligible children must have an income below $1,520 (1999 limit) and assets not exceeding $2,000, with parents' financials excluded from these limits. **Adult Developmental Disability (DD) Care Management provides oversight for individuals aged 18 and older, as well as those on the ISSH waiver (ages 15-18). Covered services under DD Care Management include Developmental Disabilities Agency services, DD/ISSH waiver services, and service coordination, all managed by DD Care Managers located in the Regional Medicaid Services unit. The Division of Medicaid Services administers the Regional Medicaid Services. Language assistance is available in English and Spanish.**
