***SEASONAL HEAD START ONLY OPEN MAY 1 to NOVEMBER 1. Head Start is a nationwide preschool initiative designed for children from families that meet income eligibility criteria. Local nonprofit organizations manage Head Start centers across the country. Applications are accepted for children aged 3 and 5. Families with incomes below the poverty level are prioritized. Eligible children must be 3 years old by September 1 and may include those with special needs or who are considered at high risk. A limited number of over-income children with special needs may also be accepted. The program provides assistance for medical, dental, educational, and social service requirements at no cost. Required documentation includes proof of income, the child's birth date, and immunization records. Head Start Supportive Services include: *Social Services, *Parent Involvement, *Nutrition, *Mental Health, *Health, *Education, *Disabilities, *Dental, and Transportation. Head Start aims to enhance the lives of children, families, staff, and the community, offering support to families facing challenges through quality education and family-centered services. The program caters to low-income children aged 0-5 years, operating five days a week for 12 hours each day, providing four meals daily. Parental involvement is encouraged through volunteering, and positive parenting classes are offered to assist families in educational matters. Transportation services are available.
