Elderhelp Of North Idaho

ElderHelp's team of staff and volunteers assists seniors in our community, allowing them to stay independent in the safety and comfort of their homes. Volunteers dedicate their time to undertake projects that enhance the safety and health of eligible seniors. While family and friends should ideally address the needs of our elderly, ElderHelp steps in when those resources are lacking. The program is sustained through donations from individuals, grants, and businesses, as well as various fundraising efforts. The needs of applicants are evaluated, prioritizing the most urgent safety concerns for action. Clients are encouraged to contribute what they can, and we either assist with the remaining needs or connect them to other suitable resources. Collaborating with other community organizations, we aim to ensure that no senior is placed in an unsafe or unhealthy situation. Services offered include: year-round firewood, installation of handrails, minor home repairs, construction of handicap ramps, grab bar installation, plumbing leak repairs, and weather stripping.
