Acerca de este recurso
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool initiative available across the nation for children from families that meet income eligibility criteria. Local nonprofit organizations manage Head Start centers throughout the country. The program is open to children who are 3 or 4 years old by August 31, including those with special needs or at high risk, and a limited number of over-income children with special needs may also be accepted. The services provided are free and include assistance with medical, dental, educational, and social needs. To enroll, families must provide proof of income, the child's birthdate, and immunization records. Head Start also offers supportive services such as social services, parent involvement, nutrition, mental health, health education, disability support, and transportation. The program aims to enhance the lives of children, families, staff, and the community by providing quality education and family-centered services. Parents are encouraged to volunteer, and services are available in English and Spanish. For intake procedures, interested parties should reach out for additional information.
