Idaho Drug Free Youth Inc

Idaho Drug Free Youth (IDFY) is a comprehensive statewide initiative focused on preventing the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, with leadership coming from middle and high school students. The program's goal is to educate, inspire, and assist young individuals in choosing to refrain from substance use. IDFY has various chapters across the state, each managed by the youth participants under the guidance of advisors. Participants commit to avoiding substances and affirm this pledge through voluntary urinalysis. They are issued a photo ID card that grants them discounts and rewards from local businesses statewide. This initiative adheres to the Safe and Drug Free School Principles of Effectiveness set by the State Department of Education, as well as the Risk and Protective Factor Research by Hawkins and Catalano.
