KACF is dedicated to enhancing community collaboration and prevention strategies, promoting active participation, and organizing events with local partners to share crucial information with youth, their families, and the broader community. Over the past fourteen years, KACF has led and managed numerous prevention activities and services, many of which continue today. Some notable programs include: **Kids Day in the Park**, **The North Idaho Family Magazine**, **The Idaho Youth Summit**, **The GAP Program in the Post Falls School District**, **Strengthening Families Program**, **UN Convention on Rights of The Child Seminars**, **Lunch & Learn Trainings**, **Walk Into Reading**, **Darkness To Light**, **DUI Youth & Adult Victims Panels**, **Real Teen, Reel Change Video Contest**, and **Community Mapping Project**. The mission of the Kootenai Alliance For Children & Families is to foster healthy families through community collaboration aimed at reducing substance abuse among youth and eliminating service duplication. Their goals include decreasing substance abuse in Kootenai County youth by implementing evidence-based programs that tackle the region's primary risk factors, educating and supporting parents and community partners, and assessing program activities that focus on key risk and protective factors.
