Kootenai Humane Society

The Kootenai Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter for homeless animals and facilitating adoptions for the public. All animals are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped. The Community S.P.O.T. (Stop Pet Overpopulation Today) Program offers spay/neuter vouchers to eligible low-income residents of Kootenai County. Additionally, the Safe Haven for Pets Program collaborates with the Women's Center, Inc. in Coeur d'Alene, allowing individuals fleeing domestic violence to bring their pets to safety. These animals will be temporarily housed in foster homes until the owners can make further arrangements. Languages: Any.

Intake Procedure: Individuals can call or walk in for services at the Humane Society, except for the Safe Haven Program, which is managed by the Women's Center, Inc. staff in Coeur d'Alene.
