Additionally, the Diabetes Education Program, accessible via www.healthandwelfare.idaho.gov, works alongside Idaho's health systems to mitigate diabetes and its complications through educational efforts and promotes diabetes care standards. The Injury Prevention Program provides seniors over 65 with exercise information to enhance flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance. The Oral Health Program, backed by the Maternal and Child Health Title V Block Grant, aims to promote oral health and prevent dental diseases through local initiatives managed by the state's health departments, including school-based fluoride mouth rinse programs. The Tobacco Prevention, Control, and Cessation Program focuses on preventing smoking and spit tobacco use, as well as addressing secondhand smoke through education and advocacy, with local health departments offering free cessation classes for pregnant women, youth, and adults, with interpreter services available.
