Adult Basic Education - Lewiston

ABE is a program aimed at improving basic skills for out-of-school adults aged 16 and above, including those who have graduated and want to enhance their skills. All materials, books, and tuition costs are covered. The program follows an "open-entry" model, allowing students to join at any time throughout the year. Instruction is tailored to individual needs, with structured classes available, and consistent attendance in these classes is strongly recommended. Each participant's learning path is guided by an Individualized Education Plan that caters to their specific requirements, enabling them to use the lab at their convenience and progress at their own speed. The program offers essential educational services such as GED preparation and testing, literacy programs, and ESL (English as a Second Language) instruction, although there are fees associated with GED testing. Individual tutoring sessions are also offered. The Adult Basic Education Program is managed by the Professional Technical Education Department and operates in English.
