Parents As Teachers - North Central Health District

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a home visiting program targeted at pregnant women and caregivers of children aged up to 5 years. This evidence-based initiative seeks to foster optimal early development, learning, and health in children by actively involving their parents and caregivers. The program emphasizes enhancing parents' understanding of early childhood development, refining parenting techniques, and enabling early identification of developmental delays and health issues through four key components: personalized home visits from certified parent educators to bolster parent-child interactions and family welfare, group connection events for social support and skill enhancement, health and developmental screenings to detect potential delays or concerns, and community resource networks to link families with additional support services.
