The Regional Children and Family Services Program reviews and assesses reports concerning child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. When required, it provides suitable services to address family needs. This program evaluates reported cases of child abuse, which may involve assessing family members and/or the affected child, and facilitates counseling for victims, parents, the abuser, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program is responsible for licensing child care facilities, foster homes, and offering some adoption services. It is managed by the Division of Family and Community Services, with services available in English and interpreters accessible if needed.
