The Self-Reliance programs encompass several types of aid: **Cash Assistance (TAFI, Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho)** offers financial support to low-income families with children, with a 24-month lifetime cap for adults who must also pursue employment, training, or education. Pregnant women without other children may qualify for TAFI only if they are in their last trimester and have a medical condition that restricts work. Unmarried minors with children must reside with their parents unless there are valid reasons otherwise. **Food Stamps** provide essential food benefits to low-income households, promoting health and stabilizing labor markets. **Child Care** assistance through the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) helps low-income families cover child care expenses while they work, seek employment, or attend training or educational programs. Eligible families will be connected with licensed childcare providers through the ICCP referral program. Benefits are determined on a sliding-fee scale. **Idaho Medicaid Benefit Plans** enhance health management and include various plans based on individual health needs, such as the **Medicaid Basic Plan** for healthy low-income children and adults and the **Medicaid Enhanced Plan** for those with disabilities or special health needs. Existing programs remain operational, including the **Pregnant Women and Children (PWC)** plan and the **Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Plan (QMB)**. **The Children's Access Card** offers premium assistance for eligible children, providing up to $100 monthly or $300 for families with three or more children. **Aid to the Aged, Blind, and Disabled (AABD)** delivers cash and medical support to low-income Idahoans aged 65 or older or those who are blind or disabled. **Telephone Assistance** aids the elderly, low-income, or disabled individuals with phone installation and service costs. To apply, individuals must fill out an application at their local Health and Welfare office or Community Action Agency. **Emergency Assistance (EA)** supports individuals with children needing work-related services, including tools and transportation costs. **Quest Card/EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer)** facilitates the distribution of Food Stamps and Welfare Cash Payments. The Self-Reliance Program is managed by the Division of Welfare, and services are available in English with interpreter access.
