Cares (Children At Risk Evaluation Services) - Twin Falls

This service provides medical and forensic evaluations for children and adolescents who are victims of alleged sexual and physical abuse, with a primary emphasis on reducing further trauma while delivering an impartial service. The offerings include physical examinations and videotaped interviews that are neutral, objective, and considerate of children's needs. Evaluations take place in a secure and confidential setting, which helps to eliminate the need for additional exams or interviews. Anyone can reach out to CARES for information and referral as well as counseling resources. However, forensic interviews and medical examinations necessitate a referral from law enforcement or the Department of Health and Welfare. Additionally, CARES offers a program called Child Trauma Recovery Resource, funded by United Way, which provides counseling scholarships to any child facing financial difficulties who has a history of abuse. Counselors contracted with CARES deliver this support. For emergencies after hours, individuals are advised to go to the emergency room. Interpreter services are also available.
