This private organization collaborates with individuals with disabilities, their families, neighborhoods, and communities to enhance independence and community engagement. The Mental Health/Community Support Program caters to both children and adults, offering assistance in acquiring and applying essential skills for school or work, which encompasses grooming, communication, anxiety management, and appropriate school behaviors. It also provides problem-solving support for daily living tasks like personal hygiene, grooming, financial management, and transportation use. Services include medication prescription and education about its effects on symptoms, as well as community crisis support aimed at ensuring safety and preventing hospitalization. Additional offerings encompass outreach groups, counseling, pre-assessment assistance, developmental therapy, occupational therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, employment services, and residential habilitation. Employment services focus on helping individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, learning disabilities, mental illnesses, and physical disabilities find and sustain jobs. Recreational activities include a camp for adults with disabilities, while pre-employment skills training covers job exploration, resume preparation, job application completion, and interview techniques.
