Acerca de este recurso
Applications can be requested either in person or by phone, but they must ultimately be submitted in writing. To receive an application packet by mail, contact the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine (dial 2-1-1 or 1-800-926-2588). The Self-Reliance programs consist of several components: **Cash Assistance (TAFI, Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho)** offers financial support to low-income families with children, with a 24-month lifetime cap for adults. Participants are required to pursue employment, training, or education to qualify. Pregnant women without other children can access TAFI only if they have a medical condition preventing work and are in their last trimester. Unmarried minors with children must reside with their parents unless there is a valid reason otherwise. **Food Stamps** provide essential food benefits to low-income households to promote health and stabilize labor markets. **Child Care** assistance through the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) helps subsidize child care costs for low-income families who are working, seeking employment, or engaged in training or educational programs. Eligible families will be referred to licensed childcare providers. Dial 2-1-1 or 1-800-926-2588 for help. Benefits are determined based on a sliding-fee scale. **Idaho Medicaid Benefit Plans** enhance health management and early problem detection. If eligible, you will receive benefits tailored to your health needs. The plans include: - **Medicaid Basic Plan** for healthy low-income individuals and families, offering comprehensive health benefits. - **Medicaid Enhanced Plan** for individuals with disabilities or special health needs, which includes all Basic Plan benefits plus additional services. Existing programs remain effective post-July 2006: 1. The **Pregnant Women and Children (PWC)** plan provides medical assistance to qualifying pregnant women. 2. The **CHIP** program has transitioned to Idaho Medicaid for eligible children based on income. 3. The **Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Plan (QMB)** covers only Medicare-paid services. **The Children's Access Card** offers premium assistance for eligible children, up to $100 per month or $300 for families with three or more children. **Aid to the Aged, Blind, and Disabled (AABD)** provides cash and medical assistance to low-income Idahoans aged 65 or older, or those who are blind or disabled (disability verification required). **Telephone Assistance** helps low-income, elderly, or disabled individuals pay for installation and monthly service costs. Applications can be completed at local Health and Welfare offices or Community Action Agencies. **Quest Card/EBT** facilitates access to food stamps and welfare cash payments. The Self-Reliance Program is managed by the Division of Welfare, with services available in English and interpreters upon request.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted via phone or in person; written applications are mandatory.
