Valley House Homeless Shelter

Intakes for clients are conducted on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday between 9am and 2pm, with a closure from 12pm to 1pm. We provide shelter for a duration of up to 6 months for individuals and families, featuring a men's shelter home with 9 beds, a women's shelter home with 17 beds, and family shelter units totaling 22. Additional services include food boxes, hygiene bags, and shower facilities available on the same weekdays from 9am to 11:30am and 1pm to 3:30pm. We also offer various life skills classes and, as funding permits, collaborate with local organizations to provide bus tickets and emergency motel assistance when shelter is full. The intake process begins with a meeting with a staff member to discuss your current living situation, how you arrived there, and your future goals. Following this, you will undergo a drug test and a background check, as individuals with violent or sexual offenses are not permitted in our shelter program. After this, you will return to the office for your intake, which must be completed by 2 pm, with the entire process taking around 3 hours. You will have weekly meetings with our Client Manager to evaluate your objectives and access necessary resources.
