Empower Her Housing - Ywca Jamestown

This communal supportive housing initiative operates at two secure and organized locations, providing a safe and stable setting for up to 14 adult women (aged 18 and older) along with their children, including boys up to 12 years old, who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of it. Each family enjoys a private bedroom, while shared spaces such as the living room, kitchen, and bathrooms promote supportive relationships that aid in rebuilding trust and fostering personal development. It is important to note that this is not emergency housing; rather, it is a longer-term structured program aimed at individuals who are prepared to pursue stability and independence.

Intake Procedure: Interested individuals can apply by filling out the online referral form available at www.ywcajamestown.com/transitions or by completing the form in person. The Empower Her Housing Director will reach out to the applicant to conduct an in-person assessment to determine if communal living suits their needs.

Fees: Monthly rates include: Single bed, $175; Parent plus one, $225; Parent plus two, $275.
