- To participate in the Placement Diversion Program, a referral from a service provider (such as DSS, Probation, School, or Therapist) is necessary, while the Family Intervention Program accepts referrals exclusively from DSS. Both programs require that a child under 18 is involved in the case, as mandated for preventive services.
