The town offers a variety of licensing, records, and informational services to its residents. Available licenses and permits include marriage licenses, hunting/fishing/trapping licenses, disabled parking permits, dog licenses, block party permits, peddler/solicitor licenses, and racing/wagering licenses. Additional services encompass processing passport applications and maintaining town records and archives. Property taxes are prepared and collected for residents of the Town of Taghkanic from January to July 31st, after which all paperwork is sent to the Columbia County Treasurer's Office.
