This program offers extensive support for individuals with major developmental disabilities, including vocational assessments, job development, situational evaluations, and assistance with job placement and retention. Site-based training encourages participants to emphasize their capabilities instead of limitations that may hinder their job performance. Located at JM Murray's manufacturing facility, we help set long-term vocational objectives that reflect each person's distinct skills, strengths, and interests. Our community-based prevocational training connects individuals with local businesses to gain work experience, with JM staff providing assessment, training, and support. Employment Connection, the first employment agency in Cortland County dedicated to individuals with disabilities, offers job exploration, readiness training, and continuous employment support. The ACE (Assisted Competitive Employment) Program serves participants aged 18 and older with a mental health diagnosis, delivering vocational rehabilitation and mental health assistance to help them achieve and maintain integrated competitive jobs. Through both group and individual activities like goal setting, career exploration, and volunteer work, we aim to enhance participants' self-esteem, stamina, skills, and reliability in a nurturing environment. The Transitional Employment Placement (TEP) Program allows participants aged 18 and older with a mental health diagnosis to discover various job opportunities through short-term placements and volunteering, aimed at improving their skills for achieving either assisted or independent competitive employment in their preferred fields.
