The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to support eligible households in fulfilling their energy requirements. Qualifying individuals may receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year, and they might also qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if they face the risk of depleting their fuel supply or having their utility services disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency benefits for 2024-2025 are set to commence on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit for 2024-2025 opened on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also started on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit for 2024-2025 is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.
