This program is available statewide and automatically registers any Central Hudson heating or non-heating customer into a bill discount initiative, granting them 12 monthly credits. The amount of these credits is determined by the type of service and the HEAP assistance received. Participants are also included in the Budget Billing program, although they can choose to opt-out if desired. Customers who use alternative heating fuels like oil, propane, wood, or pellets can submit their Notice of Decision letter to Central Hudson to confirm that their HEAP payment was directed to their alternative fuel provider, which will allow for their enrollment in the program.
