The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualifying households manage their energy expenses. Eligible participants may receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and could qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if they face the risk of fuel depletion or utility service disconnection. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 season commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also opened on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP is available for low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing an emergency.
