The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally supported initiative aimed at helping eligible households address their energy requirements. If you qualify, you can receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if you face a risk of depleting your fuel supply or having your utility services disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 year commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to launch on April 15, 2025.
