Educational & Auditory Resources For Sound (Ears) Program - St. Mary's School For The Deaf

The program offers extensive Audiological Services on-site, including newborn hearing screenings, diagnostic ABR/ASSR, VRA and behavioral audiometry, immitance testing, fitting and programming of pediatric hearing aids and BAHA services, cochlear implant mapping for children, as well as device troubleshooting and repairs. Additionally, it provides educational programming for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, emphasizing listening strategies for home, parental involvement rooted in auditory verbal principles, fostering natural conversations, weekly interactions with peers who have hearing loss, tailored speech and language therapy, and integrated services like occupational and physical therapy as needed. Family education and support are also available, along with complimentary transportation.

Intake Procedure: An evaluation must be conducted with the Teacher, Audiologist, and Speech Language Pathologist, after which the team will assess whether the child meets the program's qualifications.

Fees: Diagnostic testing and services related to pediatric hearing aids, BAHA, and cochlear implants are offered at no cost to both current and prospective students.
