Hearts & Hands - Faith In Action, Inc.

Hearts and Hands operates as a volunteer-driven non-profit organization that offers complimentary escorted transportation, companionship, and in-home assistance for older adults in communities across Erie and Eastern Niagara Counties. The individuals we serve often cease driving due to age-related health issues or financial constraints. They may also require help with light yard work, home maintenance, or simply seek companionship to alleviate the burden on their caregivers. Many of our elderly neighbors experience loneliness and isolation, necessitating friendly human interaction. In response to recent assessments from both the community and AARP, Hearts and Hands has tailored its program to combat social isolation through three key services: transportation, household support, and companionship. Volunteers from Hearts and Hands may be the only visitors our care recipients see throughout the week, making their presence a significant source of joy in their daily lives. It’s important to note that Hearts and Hands operates on a best-efforts basis, with services provided by volunteers as their schedules permit. Eligibility criteria for the Hearts & Hands service program include older adults aged 60 and above and adults with disabilities, covering areas throughout Erie County and Eastern Niagara County.
