The Buffalo Non-Detained Program offers legal assistance to non-citizens involved in removal proceedings and those needing representation before the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS), facilitating their transition to safe, independent lives in Western New York. Additionally, we act as the non-profit legal representative on the WNY Human Trafficking Task Force, collaborating with federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as federal and local prosecutors and anti-trafficking service providers. The program includes various initiatives, such as a 'public defender' style service for men held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia and women detained by ICE in Allegany and Niagara County jails.

Intake Procedure: To initiate contact, call 716-847-0662 ext. 301 and leave a message, as walk-in visits are not permitted. For assistance regarding someone arrested or detained by ICE at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility, call 716-847-0752 and provide the detainee’s name, Alien Registration Number, and country of origin.

Fees: Legal services are provided at no cost, although clients are responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses.
