Vision Rehabilitation Services - Via

This initiative offers an extensive array of services and programs designed for individuals of all ages experiencing visual impairment or legal blindness. It aims to equip these individuals with tools, education, and assistance to help them navigate their challenges, attain a greater level of independence, and lead more fulfilling lives both personally and professionally. Services are typically provided in various settings, including homes, schools, workplaces, and dedicated centers. Offerings include: low vision assessments and recommendations for assistive optical devices; orientation and mobility training for independent navigation; rehabilitation teaching with adaptive techniques to enhance independence; individual and group counseling; vocational training and work readiness programs to prepare for employment; summer recreational and vocational programs for young adults; and permanent placement services.

Fees: Most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicaid and Medicare, except for Fidelis. Eligible clients can receive funded services through the New York State Commission for the Blind.
