The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to aid qualifying households in addressing their energy requirements. Eligible participants can receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility services disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to launch on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also began on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to be available starting April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP is available for low-income families, seniors aged 60 and older, and individuals with permanent disabilities who receive Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI, while Emergency HEAP is for those facing urgent situations.
