The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally supported initiative aimed at helping eligible households manage their energy costs. Qualifying individuals may receive one regular HEAP benefit annually and may also qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility services disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 season commenced on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to start on April 15, 2025.
