The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualifying households with their energy expenses. Eligible participants can receive one standard HEAP benefit annually and may qualify for emergency assistance if they are at risk of depleting their fuel supply or having their utility services disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 year became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to start on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is scheduled for April 15, 2025.
